Burundi is a small, landlocked, hilly country situated on the Nile-Congo watershed, between Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The quality of exported Burundi coffee has already been compared to that of its neighbor Rwanda. The sweetness and clean cup profile of Burundi coffee, along with its other characteristics, often draw comparisons to neighboring Rwanda's coffee, particularly in the northern Kayanza region, which borders Rwanda.
